Today at 10:56am, the HFD was alerted of a possible house fire. Engine 3 arrived on scene confirming a dumpster fire with close proximity to a residence and 2 travel trailers. The fire was extinguished with no extension to the adjacent house or trailers with the assistance of @wlfd_nj and @rivervalefire . It was determined that there may be lithium ion batteries in the dumpster which brought a response from Bergen County Hazmat. With the assistance of the Westwood and Hillsdale DPW’s, we were able to empty the dumpster on borough property, and determine there was no longer a hazard.
